Built-Ins for a Home Office You Will Actually Use
A home office works when the paper, cables, and supplies have somewhere to go. Built-ins turn a spare bedroom or corner into a room that is ready for work.

Many home offices began as a laptop on the kitchen table. When the work stayed, the clutter did too. Built-in storage gives the office a clear edge, so work stays in the office.
Size the desk to the work
Think about what is on the desk every day: one monitor or two, a printer, a notebook, reference files. A built-in desk can run wall to wall and be sized exactly for that setup, including two people working side by side.
Hide the cables
- Grommets in the work surface route cords to outlets below.
- A dedicated cabinet keeps the printer and router out of sight.
- File drawers keep paperwork close without covering the desk.
Balance open and closed storage
Open shelves are perfect for books and a few things you like to look at, especially behind you on a video call. Closed doors below hold everything that does not need to be on display.
